by romalyn on February 14, 2010

Car stereo are similar to the home stereo system with four basic components, which are speakers, head units amplifiers, input devices like CD changer, graphic equalizer, etc. The core of any car audio is the head unit. Car stereo are meant to be installed in cars and are enjoyed while driving or riding around the city, along long country roads, or virtually anywhere else.

Wireless FM transmitters are available from a wealth of manufacturers, but true integrated control is far more appealing. Many dealers already offer cables that will integrate control of your iPod into your current car’s stereo and/or steering wheel controls. The sound system volume depends on the implementation of the amplifier.

Custom car stereo systems are very vital in ensuring that your entertainment system stays above the rest. You need efficiency and quality from your audio systems and it is therefore necessary to know what these systems are. Custom car stereos often come with more features than factory stereos. Other custom car stereos come equipped with more speakers than factory stereos.

Before, tape player gained a massive popularity and for many years, tape player was the only car audio system. And with the development of the famous brands like Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer, and Alpine, car stereo system took its next giant leap.

Now, there are car stereo models, which are equipped with bluetooth compatibility that allows the user to have seamless integration of mobile phones and other equipment that are enabled by bluetooth. Furthermore, the inputs of this car stereo are compatible with plug and play equipment thus making the sound experience easy and seamless.

Increase in the use of sophisticated car stereos in recent years has caused an increase of theft of the stereos in number. In order to prevent the theft of the car stereo, there has been many proposals of antitheft systems.

Now, in case you need car stereo repair, just be certain that you will ask the help of a professional to save you money and time.

I would like to recommend that you look into brands like PE, Coby, Scosche along with Griffin. You don't really want to go too inexpensive as you may get what you pay for, so consumer beware! .

From what it looks like, your best bet might be to go to see team-based computer help services, such as Geek Squad (from Best Buy) or Geeks on Call Best to note though that usually these services are not cheap and can run a rather high bill (especially for something like fixing an external hard drive).

For your problem though, a few things might pinpoint the issue. For one, what type of external hard drive is is (Seagate, Western Digital, etc)? Second, do you have any technical experience with dismantling computer parts (if so you might be able to fix it yourself). It seems that you may have shorted out the logic board for your drive (this is the part that communicates between the physical hard drive and the computer - it acts as the intermediary). If so, you could try to open the case of the external hard drive, carefully remove it from the burned logic board, and if you can find a spare external hard drive enclosure that matches your size (3.5 in vs. 2.5in) and bus type (eSATA vs USB), that could be all you need!

Cheers and best of luck!

Meet Tanya Marie Vlach. In 2005, she lost her left eyeball in a near death car accident. She's collecting funds to build a new HD-equipped prosthetic eyeball capable of augmented reality that'll let her "see" again. Basically, she's not afraid to embrace her inner 'borg fantasy.
